1. Who uses the information from cookies?

The party responsible for this website (hereinafter "site") is Línea Directa Aseguradora, S.A. (hereinafter "Línea Directa"), with registered office at Isaac Newton 7, 28760 Tres Cantos, Madrid.  

For any clarification, suggestion or complaint regarding your privacy, Línea Directa has appointed a Data Protection Officer who can be contacted by email at privacidad@lineadirectaaseguradora.com or by post with the subject "Data Protection". 

The purpose of this Cookie Policy is to inform you about what cookies are, what cookies we use on this site and for what purpose, and how you can consent to, reject or manage your cookie preferences. We do in addition tell you the options you have to configure, manage or reject cookies in general from your browser. 

In certain circumstances, the use of cookies may involve the processing of personal data, so we recommend that you expand and complement this information with our Privacy Policy.  

2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small amounts of information that are stored on the computer, phone, tablet or any other device used by the user so that the server remembers certain information that can be used later. This information allows us to identify you as a specific user and to store your personal preferences, as well as technical information such as visits and browsing time on the website. The use of this information allows the server where the website is located to recognise the browser utilised by the user, allowing registered users to access the areas, for example, without having to register on each visit and to remember their language preferences, country, etc. on future visits. This information may also be used to measure audience and website traffic parameters and to show you personalised advertising based on your browsing habits.

  • Pixels: this is technology that transmits information about your browsing on our site or one belonging to a third party. Pixels are pieces of code that are used to activate a cookie. In view of the above, the use of cookies may involve the processing of users' personal data. This data processing, except in cases where it is necessary for browsing the Site or to provide the service requested, shall be based on a legitimate interest when users have given their consent after having been given clear and complete information on its use, in particular on the purposes of data processing in terms of personal data protection. 

3. What type of cookies are used on the site and for what purpose?

Cookies can generally be classified as follows:  
 

  • According to the entity that generates them: 
    • Own cookies: are those that are sent to the terminal user's computer from a computer or domain managed by the editor itself, and from which the service requested by the user is provided. 
    • Third party cookies: are those that are sent to the user's computer from a computer or domain that is not managed by the editor, but by another entity that processes data obtained through cookies. 

 

  • According to the period they remain active: 
    • Session Cookies: these are a type of cookie designed to collect and store data while the user accesses our web pages. These cookies are temporary and are deleted from your computer when you finish browsing the website. 
    •  Persistent Cookies: these are a type of cookie in which the data is still stored in the terminal and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the person responsible for the cookie, which can range from a few minutes to several years. 

 

  • According to the purpose for which they are used: 
    • Strictly necessary cookies (technical and functional cookies): These allow the user to browse through the Site and use the different options or services that exist on it, as well as controlling traffic and data communication. They also make it possible to identify the session, access restricted access information, remember the elements that make up an application, make an application for registration or participation in an event, use security elements during browsing, store content for the broadcasting of videos or sound or share content via social networks. 
    • Analytics cookies: These allow the person responsible for them to track and analyse the behaviour of users on websites to which they are linked. The information collected through this type of cookie is used to measure activity on the platform and to draw up browsing profiles of the users of these sites, applications and platforms in order to make improvements based on an analysis of data related to the use made by users of the service. The information collected is in any case aggregated and always anonymous. 
    • Personalisation cookies: These are cookies that allow information to be remembered so that the user can access the service with certain features that may differentiate their experience from that of other users, such as, for example, the language, the number of results to be displayed when the user performs a search, the appearance or content of the service depending on the type of browser through which the user accesses the service or the region from which the user accesses the service. If the user chooses these features themself (e.g. if they select the language of a website by clicking on the flag icon of the relevant country), this is considered a service expressly requested by the user and their consent is not required. 
    • Behavioural advertising cookies (advertising and profiling): These store information on user behaviour obtained through continuous observation of their browsing habits, which allows a specific profile to be developed in order to display advertising based on this. Data obtained during browsing will be in addition to those that Línea Directa has on users as a result of the relationship between the user and the entity. This data will be processed for the purpose of generating an analytical model that will subsequently be applied for the purpose of obtaining the commercial profiles of users. The commercial profile will be used by Línea Directa to optimise the activities of its agents and to find out whether the user is of particular commercial relevance to the company.


It is important to highlight that under no circumstances will the profile drawn up have any legal effect on the data subjects, which means that the result of the profile does at no time affect the capacity to purchase our products and services, and will not be subject to discrimination of any kind.

In addition, if you have consented to this and have the status of a user of particular interest to Línea Directa, we will share your profile with our commercial partners (i.e. Meta and Google) in order to optimise marketing campaigns and identify groups of people with similar profiles to yours. In these cases, personal data will be communicated in a secure manner through an encrypted unique identifier that is created on the basis of your phone number or email address.

The list of cookies used by Línea Directa is available to you in the Annex to this Policy, together with the purposes for which we use them, and which specifies who owns them, whether they are first or third-party, and whether they are persistent or session cookies.

4. How do you set cookies?

When you access and browse the site, you will have the following options in relation to the installation of cookies: (i) accept them all, in which case you authorise Línea Directa to install on your device all the cookies that are reported in this policy; (ii) reject them all, in which case only those technical cookies necessary for the proper functioning of the site will be installed on your device; (iii) set them, with this option, by using the configuration panel You can tell Línea Directa which cookies you consent to us installing and which you do not.

You can manage your preferences regarding the use of cookies on the site at any time by accessing, via the button at the foot of the page, the cookie Configuration panel provided by Línea Directa.
Additionally, in the event that a person cancels any consent granted for the installation of cookies, the processing associated with the cookies will automatically cease; however, processing carried out up to the aforementioned cancellation will not be affected, nor will the remaining processing described in the Privacy Policy.

The user can also activate:

  • Private browsing, whereby your browser no longer stores your browsing history, website passwords, cookies and any other information from the sites you visit, or
  • The do-not-track function, whereby the browser asks the websites you visit not to track your browsing habits.


Finally, we inform you that to allow, know, block or delete the cookies installed on your computer or device you can do so by configuring your browser settings or by using the cookie configuration panel specifically enabled in your browser. Users can configure their browser at any time, to disable the installation of cookies and delete those previously installed. If you do not allow cookies to be installed, you may not be able to access some of the site's features and/or services and, therefore, your browsing experience may be less satisfactory.

5. How long do we retain personal data collected through cookies?

Personal data collected as a result of the installation of cookies will be retained for the duration of the contractual relationship with you as a user, or those that are necessary for the purpose for which they were collected, all in accordance with the terms set out in the "How long will your data be kept for?" section of the Privacy Policy.

We will also maintain your cookie preferences for a period of one year, after which we will ask you again for your consent to install cookies. 

6. Updates and changes to the Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy may be modified according to regulatory requirements or with the aim of adapting this policy to the instructions issued by the different Data Protection supervisory authorities. In order for you to be informed at all times about the cookies we use and their purposes, we recommend that you access the content of this policy when you visit our Site. 

Annex: Information on the cookies used by Línea Directa.

It is possible that some of the third parties we collaborate with may carry out International Data Transfers, something they will inform you of in their corresponding Cookie Policies, indicating whether they have, in each case, the clauses approved by the European Commission decision, binding corporate rules or other appropriate safeguards so that these companies can process your data.
